In the current covid-19 era, Bali tourism has experienced a decline in its domestic income. As it is known that Bali relies on the potential of cultural tourism.

When tourism experiences problems, the regional income also experiences the same thing. It turned out that it was not enough, the Balinese artists also experienced the impact.

In addition to the economic sector (income, buying, and selling transactions are declining), other problems that are also felt are that there is a lot of plagiarism against Balinese artists’ works, there is no scarcity value, and the artists don’t show up.

Therefore, Kepeng.io built the Kepeng token (KPG) that supports the growth of the tourism, arts, and culture industry by implementing and opening the NFT art market and digital ecosystem in Bali. This is supported by the emergence of local token development opportunities by the Indonesian government which is in line with the development of blockchain and token technology in the world, as well as the enthusiasm to revive the economy in Bali.

The spirit of Kepeng.io in supporting the development of artistic and cultural potential is also shown through actively collaborating with various elements in related fields. One of them is through a community that actively organizes art activities and gathers young people who care about preserving Balinese art and culture.

On (03/11/2021) Kepeng.io collaborated in the development of art and culture based on blockchain and NFT technology with STMIK STIKOM Indonesia. This was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which took place at the STMIK STIKOM Indonesia Campus, Denpasar.

Also attending the event, Kepeng.io’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), I Gede Putu Rahman Desyanta, and the Chair of STMIK Stikom Indonesia, I Dewa Made Krishna Muku, S.T., M.T. This activity was also attended by the Field of Cooperation and Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) STMIK STIKOM Indonesia.

Previously, Kepeng.io held a meeting with STMIK STIKOM Indonesia through a webinar that took place last week. The webinar held by Kepeng.io aims to provide basic insight and education about blockchain and NFT for artists, communities, and the general public that takes place online through zoom meetings.

NFT or Non-Fungible Token is a type of digital asset that is being widely discussed. Non-Fungible Tokens are traded online and are often paid for in a cryptocurrency manner. It is usually coded using basic software similar to other crypto assets.

Non-Fungible Tokens are based on blockchain technology, but are different from bitcoin. If Bitcoin is like a coin, then NFT is a digital asset tied to a unique digital asset. That way, users can only own Non-Fungible Tokens via digital ownership records of physical assets.

The Non-Fungible Token was created to provide a space for artists and content creators to have a unique experience selling their work. For example, an artist no longer relies on a gallery or auction hall to sell his work.

Meanwhile, art creators or artists can sell their works directly to consumers using Non-Fungible Tokens which can increase their chances of getting more profits.

“This activity is carried out to build a community-based ecosystem based on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency technology which is supported by the development of research and analysis on the development of a digital asset ecosystem in the arts and culture,” said I Gede Putu Rahman Desyanta, who is familiarly called Anta.

The development of a digital asset ecosystem in the fields of art and culture in Bali can be supported by encouraging the use of Baliola.com in order to foster and direct the artists who join as well as every work that is under the auspices of the community so that they can display their work in Baliola.

STMIK STIKOM Indonesia Campus, represented by I Dewa Made Krishna Muku, S.T., M.T. expressed enthusiasm and supported the collaboration which was considered to be able to increase the awareness of the young generation in Bali today towards the arts.

The rampant acts of theft of works, plagiarism, and unilateral claims against works of art that are currently happening are an “alarm” for all of us so that we are more aware of where we came from and we should protect and preserve these various traditional and cultural heritages, and adapt it to digital technology that is currently growing.
